Dreams of Flight
See the breath as they're standing
breathing for a moment they're gasping
two blades start carving
edging spirt into song
so I, stand aside
and hear the grinding ice
to see a dance take life—
where no footsteps could belong
My Brave Little Friend
don't you ever give in
My brave haunted soul
I won't ever let go
Soft it looks
but they're power to the bone
gently gliding
on steel shaped by stone
now the spinning line of the mind
stolen water trapped in cold
the hallow ground brings a sound
break, flight and then the hold
I'd so like for them to stay
and how much can I save
to throw the world of greed away
for the "pearly skates" that I crave
So I'll, stand rink side
and wish that I too could fly
but now cherish sight—
as my mind becomes enslaved
My Brave Little Friend
What I choose to pretend
but the end is the end
and desired again, My Friend
One more to lift away
One's all I need these days
These are my dreams to save
Silently hide afraid of living with my own
